A broch tzu Phantom!

So - at sunset tomorrow begins Passover.
And I'm guessing small headed Andelman is gonna be passing over the bacon to fat headed Andelman. What bad Jews. Instead of doing an entire show based on kosher recipes, they'll probably mention various mac'n'cheese dishes spiked with ham.

On countless episodes, the two have divulged their love of all things pork: bacon, ribs, non-all-beef hot dogs, etc. etc. Do you think they're gonna quit for Passover? Not likely. In fact, I heard they're gonna stuff their faces with When Pigs Fly bread! NOT ONLY does is incorporate pigs - but that shit is leavened!

Check out this picture of the Andelmans at last year's
Brighton Beach BBQ Party.
The proof is in the matzo ball soup.

IT'S THE FINALS!

So who will be up against Guilty Pleasures this weekend? A huge title is at stake here - for the "Most Overused Theme Episode Championship!"

This past weekend saw some tough calls. Saturday featured some of PG's "10 Most Wanteds." And you guessed it - Phantom's fav. Italian food? Maggiano's Little Italy (with over 50 Locations Nationwide). Phantom's various top ten's also included Cold Stone Creamery, Panera Bread. . . and of course, Dunkin' Effin' Donuts!

So, chalk one up for Chain Restaurants. Farewell Fast Food, you blew it.

Sunday's episode "Naughty Food Fantasies" was a clever guise for "Guilty Pleasures" - with all the same bad restaurants, bad jokes and bad hair.

So, Big Portions is out of the running to becoming America's Next Top Rerun.
Will it be Chain Restaurants or Comfort Foods up against Guilty Pleasures for the championship? My money is on Comfort Food - which would make for the match of century COMFORT FOOD vs GUILTY PLEASURES!!!

Get your final bets in now.

Best of the Feedback Forum

What's going on inside the head's of Phantom Phans across the suburbs?
By examining the inner culinary thoughts of PG viewers, we can see why the content of the show sucks so hard. I perused "Feedback Forum" at phantomgourmet.com, and discovered some pretty upsetting stuff.

anyone try wendys yet ? i was wondering how it compared to burger king and mcdonalds

Posted 2/29/2008 1:07 PM
Just love Wendy's breakfast! I have the
egg/sausage buritto with hot sauce.

(I skip the home fries (too greasy )

The cinnamon roll is sinful .

The Folgers coffee is very good.

I dropped Burger King years ago, and at
McD I find the portions TOO SMALL!!!

Posted 1/19/2008 2:50 PM
I am trying to find a hamburger place that doesn't have enormous hamburgers!! When I was in France, I ate a DELICIOUS burger, but it was more the size of a McDonald's one, so it was perfect! I never eat burgers because they are too thick and large for me. Any suggestions of good ones that are not humongous? (I realize the phantom probably doesn't agree with me. he probably likes a Fud's burger...sorry

Gee, the only thing I can think of is a place like Ruby Tuesday or UNO's that have tiny sliders!

I Love my burgers either HUGE or tiny. But, in the case of tiny, I need about 9 of them

(regarding the Medford Dunkin' Donuts new menu)

Dunkies has the same menu items at the location in Stoughton. I have tried the flatbread sandwiches and the hashbrowns.....

Both are delicious. Esp. the hashbrowns....there is def. a herb flavor too them....which is great! I hate the alternative 2/$1.00 Mcdonald's hashbrowns....the dunkies ones outshine them for sure! I hope they stay on the menu too.....

The personal pizza on the other hand was kinda small, and I found I needed at least 3 or 4 of them to fill me - which can get expensive. You might be better off going for Papa John's (and you can't beat Papa John's frosting dip for your crust!!!)

Is there any place around that you can get Chicken and Wafles.

Posted 3/25/2008 8:09 PM
Firefly's BBQ restaurants - Quincy, Marlborough, Framingham. They have an awesome southern fried chicken and you can have it served with waffles! (Their BBQ is really good, too!) I keep returning to try more items on their fun, southern fare menu! Live blue music 5 nights a week!!!

(regarding best Chinese food outside Boston)

Posted 2/25/2008 11:19 AM
Kowloons in Saugus HANDS DOWN~! Best crab rangoons and saugus wings I've had outside of Boston and CHINA!!!

Posted 3/4/2007 11:47 AM
Really? Best outside of China? Hard to believe you'd make a leap like that based on a dishes which doesn't even exist in China.

SPLIT DECISION. . .

Today's PG is a tough call, only because the show is technically "Big Portions," but they did an entire segment on Buffets. But, the judges say the win goes to portion size.

Surprise, surprise - Howie Carr likes giant portions
to feed his giant head.
Place your bets on the next match, it's
Chain Restaurants vs. Fast Food.
Next week it's Semi-Finals.

Phantom Wheels

The official transportation of Phantom Phans
is the Lowell Commuter Rail.
But what does the Phantom drive around?

If any of you bridge and tunnelers have been to the Phantom Phood Phest - you may have seen a pretty sweet 2006 Subaru Tribeca parked outside Tequila Rain. "Wow, the Phantom drives the coolest Minivan I've ever seen!" you thought.

You probably also wondered what kind of deal Ernie Boch gave Dandelman on those purple wheels. You also probably wondered how much it would cost to get a vinyl wrap like that
for your landscaping truck.

Turns out, the Phantom doesn't drive that purple Tribeca at all. Ernie doesn't let Dandelman withing 10 feet of the thing. The Tribeca is just for show - just another obnoxious ad for Boch Automotive.

So, what does the Phantom really drive??? If you asked Dave, he would probably spout out some radio ready response, using words like "back bay," "penthouse," "condo," chauffeur" and "Dunks run."

But, I did some investigative journalism. I went by TV 38's parking lot and snapped this picture.
